Leia Skywalker Organa Solo was a princess, senator, revolutionary, and military leader who became one of the most pivotal figures in the fight against tyranny across three galactic conflicts. The biological daughter of Padmé Amidala and Anakin Skywalker (later Darth Vader) and twin sister of Luke Skywalker, she was born in 19 BBY and adopted at birth by Senator Bail Organa and Queen Breha Organa of Alderaan, becoming Princess Leia of the Core World's royal House of Organa. Serving in the Imperial Senate as a cover for her work with the growing rebellion, she was captured while carrying the stolen Death Star plans, witnessed the Empire destroy Alderaan, and was rescued in the events of A New Hope. She became a leading figure of the Rebel Alliance, helped bring down the Empire at the Battle of Endor, and married the smuggler Han Solo, with whom she had a son, Ben. In the New Republic era she founded and led the Resistance against the First Order as General Organa, and though a trained but largely unfulfilled Force-sensitive, she passed her Jedi knowledge to Rey before dying in 35 ABY on Ajan Kloss, becoming one with the Force as she reached out to her fallen son.

Leia is born alongside her twin brother Luke to Padmé Amidala, who dies shortly after childbirth. To hide the children from Darth Vader and the Emperor, Leia is adopted by Senator Bail Organa and Queen Breha Organa of Alderaan.

~10 BBY - Childhood adventure with Obi-Wan Kenobi

As a headstrong young princess, Leia is kidnapped and rescued by Obi-Wan Kenobi, forging an early connection with the exiled Jedi Master during the events of the Obi-Wan Kenobi series.

Following in her adoptive father's footsteps, Leia becomes a member of the Imperial Senate while covertly aiding the growing rebel movement against the Galactic Empire.

0 BBY - The Death Star plans and the fall of Alderaan

Entrusted with the stolen Death Star plans, Leia is captured by Darth Vader aboard the Tantive IV. She is forced to watch the Empire destroy Alderaan, then is rescued from the Death Star by Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, and Obi-Wan Kenobi in A New Hope.

3 ABY - Escape from Hoth and capture at Cloud City

After the Empire overruns Echo Base, Leia flees with Han Solo, and the two fall in love before being betrayed at Cloud City, where Han is frozen in carbonite, as depicted in The Empire Strikes Back.

4 ABY - Victory at Endor

Leia rescues Han from Jabba the Hutt, learns that Luke is her twin brother and Vader her father, and helps the Rebel Alliance destroy the second Death Star at the Battle of Endor in Return of the Jedi.

~5 ABY - Marriage to Han Solo

In the aftermath of the Empire's defeat, Leia continues to build the New Republic and marries Han Solo.

~5 ABY - Birth of Ben Solo

Leia and Han have a son, Ben, who is later trained by Luke before falling to the dark side as Kylo Ren.

~28 ABY - Founding the Resistance

Disillusioned with the New Republic's complacency toward the rising First Order, General Leia Organa founds and leads the Resistance.

34 ABY - The war against the First Order

Leia leads the Resistance through the destruction of the Hosnian system and the Starkiller Base crisis, survives an attack in the vacuum of space using the Force, and guides the battered remnants of her fleet to survival during the events of The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi.

35 ABY - Death on Ajan Kloss

Leia completes Rey's Jedi training and, in a final act, reaches out through the Force to her son Ben in an effort to turn him from the dark side. The effort costs her life, and she becomes one with the Force during the events of The Rise of Skywalker.
