General Grievous
General Grievous died in 19 BBY.
General Grievous was the Confederacy's most feared battlefield commander during the Clone Wars. He was a four-armed cyborg who hunted Jedi and kept their lightsabers as trophies. Born Qymaen jai Sheelal, he was a sniper by the age of eight. He rose to become a legendary warlord of the Kaleesh and took the name Grievous during his people's brutal war against the Yam'rii of Huk. When the Republic and the Jedi stepped in on the Yam'rii side, the sanctions that followed starved his people, and he swore revenge. He went on to serve the InterGalactic Banking Clan as an enforcer and slowly traded his body for machine parts. Then a shuttle crash, secretly arranged by Count Dooku, left him barely alive, and Separatist surgeons rebuilt him almost entirely. Only his brain, eyes, spinal cord and a few vital organs survived. Dooku trained him in lightsaber combat, and he became Supreme Martial Commander of the Separatist Droid Armies. Across the war he led countless campaigns, killed many Jedi and fought repeated duels with his nemesis, Obi-Wan Kenobi. In the war's final days in 19 BBY he led the attack on Coruscant and captured Chancellor Palpatine. After Dooku's death he became acting leader of the Separatists and fled to Utapau. There Kenobi tracked him down and killed him, and the Confederacy soon collapsed.

Before the Clone Wars - Birth on Kalee
Qymaen jai Sheelal is born in the wilds of Kalee while the Kaleesh are fighting a war against the insectoid Yam'rii of Huk.
Before the Clone Wars - Child sniper
His father teaches him to shoot an Outland rifle. By the age of eight he is serving as a sniper and has already killed forty enemies.
Before the Clone Wars - Warlord "Grievous"
He rises quickly to become a feared warlord and takes the name Grievous. He gathers Kalee's elite Izvoshra warriors as his personal bodyguard.
Before the Clone Wars - Campaigns against Huk
Grievous drives the Yam'rii off Kalee and takes the war to the Huk worlds. His successes catch the attention of Dooku and Darth Sidious.
Before the Clone Wars - Republic intervention
The Republic and the Jedi take the Yam'rii side. The sanctions that follow starve hundreds of thousands of Kaleesh, and Grievous swears vengeance.
Before the Clone Wars - Enforcer for the Banking Clan
Grievous becomes an enforcer for the InterGalactic Banking Clan and commands its droid army. He is forbidden to keep the Izvoshra, so he has the IG-100 MagnaGuards built and trains them himself.
Before the Clone Wars - Cybernetic transformation
With the Sith's encouragement, Grievous begins replacing parts of his body with cybernetic upgrades.
Before the Clone Wars - Shuttle crash and rebuilding
Dooku secretly sabotages his shuttle and blames the Jedi for the crash. Separatist and Geonosian surgeons rebuild the dying warlord as an almost entirely mechanical four-armed cyborg and alter his mind without his knowledge.
Before the Clone Wars - Lightsaber training
Dooku trains Grievous in lightsaber combat and gives him his first captured Jedi lightsaber. Grievous passes his skills on to his MagnaGuards.
22 BBY - First Battle of Geonosis
Grievous fights in secret in the Geonosian catacombs. He kills the Jedi who stumble on him so that the Separatist Council can escape, and none survive to report his existence.
22 BBY - Supreme Martial Commander
He is made a general and Supreme Martial Commander of the Separatist Droid Armies, second only to Dooku. Early in the war he scars Ki-Adi-Mundi.
~22 BBY - The Malevolence campaign
His flagship, the Malevolence, wipes out Republic fleets with its ion cannon until Anakin Skywalker's forces destroy it.
~22 BBY - Vassek 3
At his fortress on Vassek 3, Grievous fights Kit Fisto and kills Fisto's former Padawan, Nahdar Vebb.
~22 BBY - Hunting Jedi
Grievous captures Jedi Master Eeth Koth to lure Kenobi into a trap. The Republic rescues Koth, and Grievous escapes.
~21 BBY - Captured by pirates
Hondo Ohnaka's pirates briefly hold Grievous prisoner. Kenobi and Anakin nearly capture him before he gets away.
~20 BBY - Assault on Dathomir
On Dooku's orders, Grievous leads a droid army that massacres the Nightsisters of Dathomir.
~20 BBY - Return to Kalee
On his homeworld, Grievous clashes with Anakin Skywalker during a mission to recover the kidnapped Jedi A'Sharad Hett.
19 BBY - Clash with Maul and Mother Talzin
Grievous leads Separatist forces against Maul's Shadow Collective. Dooku and Grievous kill Mother Talzin.
19 BBY - Battle of Coruscant
Grievous leads the raid on the Republic capital and captures Chancellor Palpatine. Kenobi and Skywalker rescue him from the Invisible Hand, Dooku is killed, and Grievous escapes in a pod.
19 BBY - Leader of the Confederacy
As acting head of the Separatists, Grievous retreats to Utapau. On Sidious's orders he sends the Separatist Council to Mustafar.
19 BBY - Death on Utapau
Kenobi confronts him, cuts off two of his arms and chases him across the sinkhole city. He kills Grievous by firing a blaster into his organic gut-sack, and the Clone Wars end soon after.
