Finn was born in 11 ABY.
Finn, formerly designated FN-2187 ("Eight-Seven"), is a Force-sensitive human male and former First Order stormtrooper who deserted and defected to the Resistance during the First Order–Resistance War. Taken from his family as an infant and raised from birth to be an obedient soldier, he experienced a crisis of conscience during a First Order massacre on Jakku, refusing to fire on civilians and fleeing the regime. Initially reluctant to commit to a cause he feared was doomed, he was drawn into the conflict through his friendships with the pilot Poe Dameron and the scavenger Rey. Over the course of the war he rescued Poe, helped destroy Starkiller Base, survived a lightsaber duel with Kylo Ren, joined the strike team at Canto Bight and the Battle of Crait, and ultimately rose to become a general of the Resistance. During the campaign against the resurrected Emperor Palpatine he came to recognize his own connection to the Force, bonded with fellow deserter Jannah, and helped win the decisive Battle of Exegol.

11 ABY - Birth
Finn is born during the New Republic Era. As an infant he is taken from his family by the First Order to be raised as a soldier.
~11 ABY - Conscription as FN-2187
Separated from his parents, the child is stripped of a name, designated FN-2187, and trained from birth in the First Order's stormtrooper program.
34 ABY - Defection at the Battle of Jakku
Deployed on his first combat mission, FN-2187 refuses to fire on the villagers of Tuanul during a massacre. Unwilling to serve, he frees captured Resistance pilot Poe Dameron and helps him escape, and Poe gives him the name "Finn."
34 ABY - Meeting Rey and joining the fight
Shot down over Jakku, Finn meets the scavenger Rey and BB-8. After the First Order attacks Takodana, he reconnects with the Resistance and reluctantly agrees to help.
34 ABY - Assault on Starkiller Base
Posing as an expert to rescue Rey, Finn helps the Resistance strike team infiltrate Starkiller Base. He duels Kylo Ren with Luke Skywalker's lightsaber, is gravely wounded, and falls into a coma.
34 ABY - The mission to Canto Bight
Awakening from his coma aboard the Raddus, Finn partners with mechanic Rose Tico on a covert mission to Canto Bight to disable the First Order fleet's hyperspace tracker.
34 ABY - Battle of Crait
During the last stand on Crait, Finn attempts to sacrifice himself against a First Order siege cannon, but Rose stops him, and he escapes with the surviving Resistance.
35 ABY - General of the Resistance
As the war intensifies against the resurrected Emperor Palpatine, Finn becomes a leader within the Resistance and searches for a Sith wayfinder alongside Rey, Poe, and their allies.
35 ABY - Meeting Jannah and sensing the Force
Finn encounters Jannah, a fellow former stormtrooper who deserted, and on the wreckage of the second Death Star he grows convinced that his instincts are guided by the Force.
35 ABY - Battle of Exegol
Finn leads Resistance ground forces aboard Palpatine's Sith fleet, helping to destroy a Star Destroyer's navigation tower and secure victory at Exegol. He survives the war.
