Chopper
Chopper is the rebellion's most ill-tempered astromech. He is a battered, patched-together droid who has run for decades past his expiration date and is fiercely loyal to Hera Syndulla. He began as a navigation droid in the Republic Navy during the Clone Wars. When his Y-wing was shot down over Ryloth, a young Hera pulled him from the wreck and rebuilt him, and he never flew in a Y-wing again. He stayed with her through the Imperial occupation of her homeworld and followed her into space. There he became the only droid who could work the Ghost's systems, which he had rewired himself. As a member of the Spectres he pranked his crewmates, argued with everyone, and saved them again and again. He posed as Imperial droids to get into an academy and a communications ship, found out where Kanan Jarrus was being held, and gunned down TIE fighters when no one else could. He also befriended the defecting droid AP-5, and together they found the rebels a new base on Atollon, which was named Chopper Base after him. He fought through the Liberation of Lothal and stayed with Hera through the Galactic Civil War, including the rebel strikes at Scarif. He then served with her in the New Republic, where he helped in the search for Ezra Bridger and was there when Ezra finally came home.

He serves as a navigation astromech in the Republic Navy and takes part in the fight for Ryloth.
Clone Wars - Shot down over Ryloth
His Y-wing is shot down. The young Hera Syndulla pulls him from the wreck and repairs him, and he refuses to ride in a Y-wing ever again.

With Hera, he watches the Imperial forces occupying Ryloth after the Republic becomes the Empire.
~19 BBY - Rescue on Ryloth
He helps Hera and Clone Force 99 rescue her parents, Cham and Eleni Syndulla, from Imperial custody.
~Early Imperial era - Leaving Ryloth
He follows Hera when she leaves Ryloth to fight the Empire. He becomes the Ghost's maintenance droid and rewires the ship so thoroughly that only he can work its computer.

He waits on the Ghost while Hera meets Kanan Jarrus, who then joins the crew.
5 BBY - Convoy ambush
When the crew's attack on an Imperial convoy turns out to be a trap, he takes over the Phantom's guns and destroys the last TIE fighter.

He meets Ezra Bridger with open hostility and plays pranks on him and Zeb aboard the Ghost.
5 BBY - Encounter with R2-D2 and C-3PO
During the theft of T-7 ion disruptors, he clashes with Bail Organa's droids and helps overload the weapons before they can reach the Empire.
5 BBY - Lost in a sabacc game
Zeb bets him in a sabacc game and loses him to Lando Calrissian. The crew earns him back by helping Lando with a smuggling run.
5 BBY - Infiltrating the Imperial Academy
With black paint as a disguise, he gets into Lothal's Academy for Young Imperials to support Ezra and contact Zare Leonis.
5 BBY - Lothal communications tower
He uploads a data spike into the tower's computer so Ezra can broadcast a message of rebellion. Kanan is captured during the escape.
5 BBY - Posing as a courier droid
Disguised as the Imperial courier droid 264, he gets aboard an Imperial communications ship and learns that Kanan is being held on Tarkin's Star Destroyer.
5 BBY - Rescue at Mustafar
He brings a rebel fleet out of hyperspace to wipe out the TIE fighters chasing the Spectres after they rescue Kanan.
4 BBY - Joining Phoenix Cell
The Spectres join the wider rebellion. He escapes the Siege of Lothal and Darth Vader's attack on the Phoenix fleet.
3 BBY - Friendship with AP-5
He befriends the Imperial protocol droid AP-5. Together they find the new rebel base on Atollon, which is named Chopper Base in his honor.
2 BBY - Briefly reprogrammed
Imperials take control of him and turn him against his crew for a short time before he is restored.
2 BBY - Battle of Atollon
He escapes with the rebels when the Empire destroys Chopper Base.
1 BBY - Battle of Scarif
He goes with Hera and the Ghost as part of the Alliance fleet at Scarif.
1 BBY - Liberation of Lothal
He fights with the Spectres to free Lothal from the Empire.
Galactic Civil War - At Hera's side
He stays with General Hera Syndulla for the rest of the war against the Empire.

Now serving the New Republic, he helps Hera and Ahsoka Tano search for the missing Ezra. He is there when Ezra returns home.
