Chewbacca was born in 200 BBY.

Chewbacca, affectionately called Chewie, was a Wookiee warrior, smuggler, mechanic, pilot, and resistance fighter from the forest planet Kashyyyk. Renowned for his loyalty, strength, and skill as a co-pilot, he fought across generations of galactic conflict — the Clone Wars, the Galactic Civil War, and the war between the First Order and the Resistance. During the Clone Wars he was captured by Trandoshan slavers and imprisoned on Wasskah, escaping with the aid of fellow captive Jedi Commander Ahsoka Tano, and later helped defend his homeworld and cover Jedi Grand Master Yoda's escape during the Battle of Kashyyyk. He is best known as the lifelong companion and co-pilot of Han Solo aboard the Millennium Falcon, a partnership that began around a decade before the Battle of Yavin. Bound to Han by a Wookiee life debt, Chewbacca became a central figure of the Rebel Alliance, fighting at battles such as Yavin, Hoth, and Endor, and continued to serve the New Republic and later the Resistance, standing beside a new generation of heroes into the war against the First Order.

During the Clone Wars, Chewbacca is captured by Trandoshan slavers and taken to the moon Wasskah to be hunted for sport.

~21 BBY - Escape from Wasskah with Ahsoka Tano

Working alongside fellow captive Jedi Commander Ahsoka Tano and a group of younglings, Chewbacca helps organize a resistance and escapes the Trandoshans' hunting grounds.

19 BBY - Battle of Kashyyyk

Chewbacca and Chieftain Tarfful lead Wookiee forces defending Kashyyyk alongside the Grand Army of the Republic under Jedi General Yoda. When Order 66 is issued, the two Wookiees help Yoda escape the planet and the destruction of the Jedi Order.

Imprisoned by the Empire, Chewbacca meets Han Solo on Mimban, and the two escape together, beginning a lifelong friendship. He takes part in the Kessel heist aboard the Millennium Falcon.

Chewbacca and Han take on a charter from Obi-Wan Kenobi and Luke Skywalker, becoming entangled in the Rebellion and aiding in the rescue of Princess Leia and the destruction of the Death Star.
