BB-8
BB-8 was born in 29 ABY.
BB-8 is the rolling astromech whose flight across the Jakku desert, carrying a fragment of the map to Luke Skywalker, set the war between the Resistance and the First Order in motion. Built in 29 ABY, he became Poe Dameron's copilot and friend in Rapier Squadron, then followed Poe into Leia Organa's Resistance, flying with Black Squadron in the hunt for Lor San Tekka and repeatedly outsmarting the First Order agent Terex. Poe lent him to Kazuda Xiono during Kaz's spy work on the Colossus, where BB-8 kept the inexperienced pilot alive through pirate raids and First Order schemes. After the attack on Tuanul, he escaped alone with the map, met Rey and Finn, and helped bring it to the Resistance, which led to the destruction of Starkiller Base. During the evacuation of D'Qar he flew with Poe, then went with Finn and Rose Tico to Canto Bight and rescued them aboard the Supremacy by commandeering an AT-ST walker. He stayed with the survivors from Crait as they rebuilt, joined the search for the Sith wayfinder, and was at the final battle on Exegol, where the Sith Eternal were defeated.

BB-8 is built as a BB-series astromech droid and later becomes Poe Dameron's companion.
~33 ABY - Suraz Engagement
BB-8 flies with Poe and Rapier Squadron when they answer the hijacked freighter Yissira Zyde's distress call, and they fail to stop the First Order from taking it.
~33 ABY - Skirmish in OR-Kappa-2722
Against orders, BB-8 and Poe track the freighter to a hidden First Order fleet. Back at base, Poe is disciplined, and BB-8 follows him when he leaves the New Republic to join the Resistance.
34 ABY - Black Squadron's Hunt for Lor San Tekka
BB-8 flies with Black Squadron to Ovanis and finds a First Order tracker on Poe's X-wing. He stuns Agent Terex and, on Megalox Beta, disables the prison's gravity field so the squadron can escape with Grakkus.
34 ABY - Mission to Kaddak
BB-8 helps Poe and C-3PO recover the spy droid N1-ZX. On a desert world he stops Terex from executing Poe, and Terex is handed over to the First Order.
34 ABY - Lent to Kazuda Xiono
About six months before the Battle of Starkiller Base, Poe assigns BB-8 to help Kaz spy on the Colossus refueling station on Castilon.
34 ABY - Adventures on the Colossus
BB-8 saves Kaz during pirate raids, helps him infiltrate Doza Tower twice, and joins Poe and Kaz on the mission to Station Theta Black, where he uncovers the First Order's weapons build-up.
34 ABY - Mission to the Dassal System
BB-8 helps discover that the First Order destroyed the Dassal system, then goes back to Poe while CB-23 stays with Kaz.
34 ABY - Attack on Tuanul
After Poe is captured on Jakku, BB-8 escapes with the map fragment that points to Luke Skywalker.
34 ABY - Meeting Rey
Rey frees BB-8 from Teedo's net. The two escape bandits and Unkar Plutt's thugs, meet Finn, and flee Jakku aboard the Millennium Falcon.
34 ABY - Takodana and D'Qar
BB-8 survives the First Order attack on Maz Kanata's castle and delivers the map to the Resistance on D'Qar, where he is reunited with Poe.
34 ABY - Battle of Starkiller Base
BB-8 flies with Poe in the attack that destroys Starkiller Base. When R2-D2 reawakens, the full map to Luke Skywalker is assembled.

BB-8 flies with Poe during the attack on the First Order dreadnought and repairs Black One's systems in the middle of the fight.

BB-8 goes with Rey, Finn, Poe and Chewbacca to Pasaana, Kijimi and Kef Bir in search of the Sith wayfinder, and meets the droid D-O.
35 ABY - Battle of Exegol
BB-8 takes part in the final battle against the Sith Eternal and Palpatine's Final Order, then celebrates the victory with the Resistance on Ajan Kloss.
