Asajj Ventress was born in 50 BBY.
Asajj Ventress was a Dathomirian warrior whose life spanned nearly every role the galaxy could offer: Nightsister, Jedi Padawan, Sith-trained assassin, Separatist commander, bounty hunter, and ultimately a redeemed heroine. Born on Dathomir into a Nightsister clan, she was given away as a child and endured slavery before being taken as an apprentice by a stranded Jedi. She rose to prominence during the Clone Wars as Count Dooku's deadly dark-side assassin, dueling Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and Ahsoka Tano. After Dooku betrayed her, she returned to her Nightsister kin, survived General Grievous's massacre of them, and reinvented herself as a bounty hunter. Her arc culminated when she aided the fallen Jedi Quinlan Vos and sacrificed herself to save him from Dooku's Force lightning — though Nightsister magic later restored her to life, allowing her to resurface in the years after the Clone Wars.
Asajj Ventress is born into a clan of Nightsister witches on the planet Dathomir.
As a young child, Ventress is handed over to the criminal Hal'Sted and taken offworld, where she ends up enslaved. (Elements of this early backstory, including her time on Rattatak, originate in Legends material.)
After her master's death, she is discovered and trained in the ways of the Force by the marooned Jedi Ky Narec, whom she later loses to violence — a loss that drives her toward the dark side.
By the outbreak of the Clone Wars, Ventress serves Count Dooku as a dark-side assassin and Separatist commander, clashing repeatedly with Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and Ahsoka Tano.
Fearing her growing power, Dooku orders her killed. Surviving the betrayal, Ventress returns to Dathomir and rejoins Mother Talzin and the Nightsisters, plotting revenge.
General Grievous leads a droid army that slaughters the Nightsister clan. Ventress survives but is left without her people, becoming a wandering bounty hunter.
Now a bounty hunter, Ventress crosses paths with Ahsoka Tano and helps clear the framed Padawan's name during Ahsoka's flight from the Jedi Order.
Ventress joins the Jedi Quinlan Vos in a mission to assassinate Dooku, falling in love with him. She sacrifices herself, shielding Vos from Dooku's Force lightning, and appears to die.
Through Nightsister magic she is resurrected, and in the years following the Clone Wars she resurfaces alive, appearing during the era of The Bad Batch.
