A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away....
Armitage Hux was born in 1 BBY and died in 35 ABY.
Armitage Hux is best known as the young, venomous First Order general who ordered Starkiller Base to fire on the Hosnian system, wiping out the New Republic's capital and fleet in a single shot. He was born illegitimate to the Imperial academy commandant Brendol Hux and grew up scorned and beaten by his father. As the Empire collapsed he was carried into the Unknown Regions alongside Grand Admiral Rae Sloane and a band of child soldiers placed under his command, and he came of age inside the Imperial remnant that became the First Order. Driven by ambition and resentment, he quietly had his father poisoned with Captain Phasma's help, took over the program that raised stormtroopers from infancy, and became the youngest general in the First Order's High Command. His bitter rivalry with Kylo Ren shaped his career: he commanded the Finalizer during the hunt for Luke Skywalker, oversaw the destruction of the Hosnian worlds and the loss of Starkiller, then pushed the hyperspace tracking that let the fleet chase the Resistance from D'Qar toward Crait aboard the Supremacy. After Snoke's death, Ren became Supreme Leader and Hux lost most of his standing. Sidelined under Allegiant General Enric Pryde, he secretly began feeding intelligence to the Resistance, less out of conscience than a wish to see Ren lose. He even helped captured Resistance fighters escape from the Steadfast over Kijimi, until Pryde exposed him and shot him for treason.
Born on Arkanis as the illegitimate son of Commandant Brendol Hux and a kitchen worker. He never knew his mother and grew up friendless, mocked by Imperial officers and abused by his father.
As the New Republic besieges Arkanis, the bounty hunter Mercurial Swift, hired at Gallius Rax's request, pulls Armitage and Brendol off the planet before they can be captured.
On Jakku, Counselor Gallius Rax places the child soldiers trained by Brendol under the boy's command and names him his father's future successor.
After Rae Sloane kills Rax during the Battle of Jakku, Hux, his father and Sloane flee into uncharted space aboard the Imperialis. Sloane shields the boy from Brendol's abuse and orders his father to educate him as a proper heir.
Grows up within the Imperial remnant that becomes the First Order and becomes the youngest general in its High Command, carrying on his father's methods of training soldiers from birth.
Answers his father's distress call from Parnassos and brings Brendol, Phasma and Frey back to the First Order. On the way to the Absolution, he watches Brendol bombard the planet from orbit.
Conspires with Phasma to kill his father. She uses a Parnassos beetle toxin that can't be traced. Hux then takes Brendol's place, pushes aside Brendol's loyalist Captain Cardinal, and leads Project Resurrection with Phasma.
Survives a sabotaged shuttle crash on a forest world with his rival Kylo Ren. He tricks the old Alderaanian guard Bylsma into calling for a rescue, then marks the planet for Starkiller target practice.
Holds Admiral Brooks responsible for the sabotage and shoots him, paying back a lifetime of humiliation and admitting that he had his own father killed.
Commands the Finalizer during the attack on Tuanul and the search for BB-8. Poe Dameron and the defecting FN-2187 escape from his ship.
Gives a fiery speech to the assembled troops on Starkiller Base and orders the superweapon to fire, destroying the Hosnian system and the New Republic's leadership.
Evacuates as the Resistance destroys Starkiller Base and follows Snoke's order to bring back the wounded Kylo Ren.
Leads the fleet against the Resistance base on D'Qar but loses a Siege Dreadnought to Poe Dameron and the Resistance bombers. Snoke punishes him through the Force, and Hux answers with his plan for hyperspace tracking.
From the Supremacy, directs the slow chase of the Resistance fleet and captures Finn and Rose Tico. The Holdo maneuver cripples the Supremacy, and Snoke is found dead.
Bows to Kylo Ren as the new Supreme Leader and follows him into the attack on the Resistance outpost on Crait, from which the survivors escape.
Sits on the First Order Supreme Council but loses influence and serves under Allegiant General Enric Pryde aboard the Steadfast.
Secretly leaks intelligence to the Resistance, including word of the Sith Eternal's fleet on Exegol, hoping to see Kylo Ren lose.
After helping Finn, Poe Dameron and Chewbacca escape from the Steadfast above Kijimi, he reveals that he was the spy. Pryde shoots him dead for treason.
